The company specializing in unmanned systems and defense technologies reported a quarterly income of $275 million for the last quarter, marking a 40% rise compared to the previous year. The adjusted profit before accounting for interests, taxes, and depreciation was $61.1 million, which corresponds to a margin of 22.4%. AeroVironment’s ( NASDAQ: AVAV ) fiscal 2026 outlook projects revenue between $1.9 billion and $2 billion and adjusted ebitda of $300 million to $320 million. The guidance reflects the contribution of BlueHalo, the space, cyber and directed energy specialist AeroVironment ( AVAV acquired earlier this year.

Investor confusion on guidance

Even with the optimistic outlook, RBC Capital Markets analyst Ken Herbert pointed out some investor uncertainty regarding the guidance. The total of revenue predictions from AeroVironment’s remains as mentioned. AVAV Two business divisions — Autonomous Systems and Space, Cyber & Directed Energy — suggested possible revenues up to $2.2 billion, surpassing the firm's overall projection. This indicates to Herbert the company’s cautious strategy, noting that.

"We think the FY26 guidance shows a cautious stance, aligning with how management usually operates," Herbert stated.

Siegmann expressed confidence in AeroVironment’s ( AVAV The trajectory indicates an encouraging sign for organic expansion through heightened capital investments. The firm anticipates fiscal year 2026 capital spending to range from 6% to 8% of sales, marking an increase from 5% in the previous fiscal year, 2025.

"We maintain our belief that investors will start to recognize AVAV's approach to capital deployment as these investments yield compelling returns," Siegmann stated in a report dated June 25, where he reiterated his buy recommendation along with a $240 price objective.

AVAV It is "highly well-placed to address present worldwide challenges," with expectations of growing revenues at more than 15% per year until FY27.

Gesuale also emphasized the growing diversity within the company, projecting that around 80% of the fiscal year 27 revenues will come from precision strike, counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), space, and unmanned systems products. It's worth noting that this includes contributions from AeroVironment’s various offerings. AVAV Exposure to sales related to Ukraine – which was once a significant contributor – is expected to fall under 5% of total revenue by FY26.

The Switchblade series of loitering munitions remains a crucial driver for the company’s growth, with anticipated added impetus coming from new offerings such as the Red Dragon drone and the Jump 20-X. AeroVironment ( AVAV ) estimates that its Red Dragon product line alone addresses a market totaling more than $1 billion, with the initial phase of growth already beginning.
