PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB From Escambia to Wakulla counties, FSU’s Inspire Program is providing eight-week courses aimed at assisting educators in incorporating technology into their teaching environments.

"We're currently training educators in cutting-edge technologies such as AI and robotics, with the aim of integrating these advancements into classroom teaching. Our primary objective is to infuse modern tech solutions into educational settings. However, our core mission revolves around motivating instructors to push beyond conventional boundaries and adopt innovative tools that surpass current technological standards," explained Drew Allen, the Executive Director of FSU Inspire.

This initiative aims to motivate educators and develop a sustainable workforce for future generations. It represents a modest yet significant component of FSU’s collaboration with Triumph Gulf Coast under their Inspire program.

FSU was awarded a $98 million Triumph grant last year aimed at establishing an innovation center for aerospace and defense initiatives in northwest Florida.

"This initiative is one that spans generations. These changes won’t occur quickly; they will require approximately two decades, perhaps more, before we can completely achieve our aspirations. And this journey begins within the classroom," Allen went on to say.

Redefining classroom setups and overhauling lesson plans are some methods to stay aligned with student needs.

"We must motivate educators to swiftly adjust their teaching methods and curricula as technology advances. To assist them, we will supply these resources so they can create a more pertinent and expedited curriculum compared to the standard timeline for curriculum development and integration," Allen stated.
