“Ironheart” Creators Ryan Coogler & Dominique Thorne Hint at Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” Promising a Thrilling Preview
Though Ironheart Executive Producer Ryan Coogler didn't originally consider a spinoff series focused on Dominique Thorne's character, Riri Williams, who was first brought in with the 2022 release. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever As a youthful tech-savvy individual from Chicago — after Marvel’s crew reached out to him regarding this, the character's destiny within the MCU became firmly established.
"No, no, I prefer to tackle things one step at a time," Coogler said to appstoreofficialidon the red carpet at today’s Los Angeles premiere of the Disney+ series hosted at the El Capitan Theatre.
The Sinners Helmer mentioned that the character of Riri initially emerged as a "counterpoint to [Letitia Wright’s] Shuri," providing an opportunity for her development. As they progressed further into making the movie, Helmer was contacted by another member of the creative team. Ironheart executive producers Brad Winderbaum and Zoie Nagelhout regarding a series.
"It was clearly complex trying to ensure we provided ample space for character development while defining who Riri is, yet it has been incredibly thrilling," Coogler stated.
The series similarly acts as the MCU’s debut for supernatural sorcery intersecting with technology through its antagonistic figure The Hood (Anthony Ramos). He is an insignificant crook who accidentally comes across a mystical robe fueled by powers akin to those shown in Doctor Strange.

Individually, when questioned regarding an update on the screenplay for Black Panther 3 , Coogler mentioned he is presently "engaged" in working on it.
In turn, Thorne hinted at how her character, focused on STEM, would navigate the "more mystical aspects" of life. She mentioned that both her family and particularly her mother attempt to integrate her into this realm in a basic yet deeply spiritual manner, which she finds unappealing. Thus, Thorne believes viewers will find it amusing as well as enticing to watch her character embark on this path when she fully grasps the magnitude and potential of the magical dimension within our world.
