Kate Hudson is set to receive this year’s esteemed Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation's Pioneer of the Year award, making her one of just a handful of women in acting to earn this distinguished accolade.
The celebrated actor, producer, vocalist, and businessperson will receive the highest accolade from the foundation at their yearly gala on October 18th at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
For more than seven decades, the Pioneer of the Year Award has been bestowed upon individuals in the film industry who demonstrate an exceptional dedication to charity work and community service.
"Beyond her remarkable achievements in the film industry, Kate Hudson has made significant impacts through her dedication to charitable work and social activism. This encourages viewers around the world to engage actively within their own communities and stand by one another during challenging times," stated Lisa Bunnell, who serves as both the president of the Will Rogers Institute and the head of distribution for Focus Features.
Hudson is set to appear alongside Hugh Jackman in Focus Features' upcoming musical drama. Song Sung Blue Directed by Craig Brewer, the movie is inspired by a real-life tale of two struggling musicians who come together to create a Neil Diamond cover group. This film is scheduled for national theatrical release on Christmas Day later this year.
