In a reform administration led by Zia Yusuf, affluent individuals would contribute £250,000 directly to the Exchequer, with all funds being allocated to support the most economically disadvantaged workers.
For many years, Britain stood as a dominant force globally and an attractive destination for talents and wealth from around the world. Today, however, it finds itself pushing away some of the most brilliant entrepreneurial minds and accomplished business leaders internationally.
In recent years, inept politicians have intensified their antagonism toward those who create wealth and employment globally. This has led to unprecedented departures of the wealthiest individuals. As they leave, they take away investments, job opportunities, and vast sums in tax income.
This isn't merely a technical problem. It's a stark and perilous indication of the nation's deterioration.
Since 2013, the count of non-dom taxpayers In the UK, the number has dropped from more than 120,000 to less than 80,000. This means we've lost tens of thousands of people who contributed significantly both in spending and contributions, resulting in an estimated gap of £7 billion in our yearly public funds. These financial resources could have been allocated towards healthcare for nurses, improving infrastructure, or reducing taxes for laborers. However, this money instead went to places like Dubai, Switzerland, Italy, and even the US.
Labour's recent action — completely eliminating the non-domiciled tax status — is not merely irresponsible; it amounts to self-harm. While the previous system lacked transparency and the Conservatives did not manage to overhaul it effectively, scrapping it entirely without a viable alternative constitutes economic destruction. This will likely push even more skilled individuals out of the country, rendering Britain less wealthy rather than more equitable.
The actual issue at hand is that the social agreement between the wealthy and the less fortunate in Britain has faltered. People feel that those at the top adhere to distinct guidelines – and unfortunately, they frequently do so. However, the key insight is not to terrify capital away; rather, it's about ensuring that prosperity benefits all individuals.
That’s where Reform UK ’s solution comes in.
We represent the party of workers—and we envision Britain as the premier location worldwide for establishing a business, nurturing a family, and fostering prosperity. However, achieving this requires drawing global wealth and utilizing it to benefit the British population.
The Britannia Card
Our strategy is daring, straightforward, and equitable. We refer to it as the Britannia Card.
Each wealthy person aiming to reside in Britain—or to come back after departing—will be required to make an initial payment of £250,000. As compensation, these individuals will gain access to a steady system where their foreign earnings incur remittances, along with immunity from inheritance taxes on international possessions. This arrangement offers financial security for both parties involved: assurance for those seeking residency and immediate funds deposited into the nation’s coffers for Britain.
However, the crucial point is that each individual penny from this fund will go directly to the 2.5 million low-wage full-time employees in Britain—individuals such as cleaners, security personnel, and caregivers. These are the people who maintain the functioning of our nation.
This approach doesn’t follow the trickle-down principle; instead, it involves a straightforward redistribution. The funds will go through HMRC to provide yearly tax-free monetary rewards directly into the bank accounts of approximately 2.5 million employees. If only 6,000 people take advantage each year under a conservative estimate, they would receive £600 annually per person. However, should uptake reach up to 10,000 individuals, this amount could rise to £1,000 per individual. This represents tangible financial support delivered consistently on an annual basis.
Allow me to clarify: this is not what you would call a "golden visa." It does not provide a path to citizenship. Nor is it intended as an avenue for tax avoidance. All income earned within the UK, along with properties and expenditures, will continue to be subject to standard taxation practices. Instead, this represents a single flat-rate payment aimed at supporting British workers — in exchange for reasonable, restricted tax handling of foreign-derived earnings.
Labor is presenting uncertainty, animosity, and ideological ill will.
Compare this to what Labour proposes: uncertainty, hostility, and ideological vindictiveness. Their strategy is causing investors to pull back. In contrast, our plan attracts investments and directs them precisely where they are most urgently required.
For far too long, tax policies have catered exclusively to the wealthy elite or penalized them without justification. Reform UK aims to celebrate achievement and distribute prosperity accordingly. We'll revitalize the social pact such that whenever a billionaire relocates to Britain, a nurse receives an incentive. Should a world-class entrepreneur establish their presence here, a janitor should reap rewards as well.
This is how a contemporary, equitable, national tax system ought to be structured — one that benefits everyday workers.
Britain has all the components needed to once again become an attractive destination for international talent – however, this requires altering our course. To be straightforward: Labour is reducing the overall size of the economic pie. The Conservatives lacked a strategy. Only Reform UK presents a robust and trustworthy plan aimed at restoring prosperity so that benefits are shared broadly rather than being confined to just a select group.
It's time to transform Britain into the globe's most attractive hub for wealth and an ideal location for workers. It's time to restore Britain as a thriving and influential nation.
