It was a Harry Potter one, Fantastic Beasts I’m not sure if an offer was actually made to me; I believe I simply chose not to participate. It likely involved a commitment of around six years. Additionally, as we discussed before, I deliberately decided to reduce my involvement somewhat and strive for better control over the situation.”
"I was particularly interested in working on children’s movies, but I also harbored a significant concern about becoming overly famous from them," he confessed. Cera gained prominence following his roles in the successful 2007 films. Superbad and Juno as well as for his part in Arrested Development .

He mentioned, “I believe I have moved past those specific sentiments.” When asked about current opportunities, he added, “If an intriguing franchise were to come my way today, I wouldn’t immediately reject it just because it’s part of a series; leaving the workplace over such matters isn’t something I’d do anymore.”
In another part of his discussion with Louis Therux, the actor admitted that he was not particularly "fond of seeking attention" and struggled with "setting healthy limits." This difficulty was especially pronounced when he began his acting career as an adolescent.
Cera mentioned that he occasionally has adverse reactions when approached by admirers in public settings and tends to enter a fight-or-flight state due to experiencing something akin to PTSD because of this.
“I was also in Los Angeles, where I found things to be quite intense regarding this issue. The spotlight syndrome felt particularly strong there, even at present,” he shared. “There’s an overwhelming feeling of exposure, and when I was 19 years old, my recognition skyrocketed almost overnight, which really took me aback. Of course, many aspects were incredibly positive; meeting wonderful individuals was part of it. However, some encounters involved people with little respect for personal space, leading to constant photography and heightened self-awareness. Life seemed simpler back then.”
